A Game-Changing Approach for Companies to Step Up on Sustainability

This is a wake-up call and chance to rethink how we conduct business.

Business Leadership for Sustainability Transformation

Henrik and Elaine recently facilitated a discussion among business leaders and policymakers on how to lead organizations on a sustainable transformation journey. Co-hosted by the Embassy of Sweden, the Honorary Consulate General of Sweden in San Francisco, and the Nordic Innovation House in Silicon Valley.

The global pandemic has created an unprecedented reality that is profoundly impacting our society and economy now and for the foreseeable future. About The Authors

For Henrik Henriksson and Elaine Weidman Grunewald, this is a game-changing moment for companies to step up on sustainability. Henrik, CEO of H2 Green Steel and former CEO of sustainable transport company Scania, and Elaine, sustainability executive, investor, and board member and former Chief Sustainability & Public Affairs Officer for Ericsson, came together to write this book as unconventional partners who share two fundamental beliefs:

  1. The world faces unprecedented and urgent global challenges and business needs to step up,

  2. While not perfect, Sweden is brimming with great examples of how companies are working profitably and meaningfully to move the needle on sustainability.

While the world grapples with the devastating human tragedy and seismic shifts in society and the economy brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, the authors urge business leaders not to lose focus on the many other challenges facing the planet and humanity, including climate change, rising inequality, and biodiversity loss.
